24 Months & 8 Months

Mackenzie Amelia- 24 Months (last monthly post)

Mackenzie is like a sponge these days, soaking up every bit of knowledge she can. She has a new fascination with the ABC song and can sing about half of it. She loves shapes and has gotten pretty good at them too. So far she can correctly identify circle, square, rectangle, triangle, oval, diamond, octagon, and pentagon. She tries to count to 20 but solidly makes it to 15. Her two favorite activities include puzzles and coloring, so you can imagine all the puzzle pieces and crayons I clean up on a daily basis! She loves to talk, make you laugh, and of course be silly. She has a pure love for her family and you see it shine through every time her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins come to visit. She knows that there is a special bond between them and I love that she already knows how important it is! We are so proud of her and all of her accomplishments and know this little girl is going big places!

Isla Marie- 8 Months

Isla Marie is officially 8 months old! We can't believe how fast time is flying by! She is motoring around like crazy theses days and is trying to figure out how to pull herself up. She is eating great and just tried her first bit of "table food", puffs! It took her awhile to realize she could actually eat them but once she figured it out she couldn't get enough! She has four teeth and is working on two more. Her sleeping has improved some, waking only once in the middle of the night to eat (3-4 times if she is teething, yikes!). She loves to giggle and babble and isn't afraid to "yell" at Mommy when she needs a little more attention. Now that she is on the move she is obsessed with everything and anything that Mackenzie is playing with, especially her crayons. There has been a lot of "It's nice to share" talks going on in our house, and we are definitely getting a glimpse of what is ahead of us! She is weighing in at 15.6 lbs (in between 10th and 25th percentile) and her height is in the 25th percentile. We are so lucky to have this little ladybug in our lives! Happy 8!
