A day in the Life of Mackenzie...

Wake up happy and smiling at 7:00am. Eat. Play with my toys (Elle the elephant is my favorite!). Nap. Play on my play gym. Eat. Go on a walk with Mommy and Lupa. Nap. Eat. Play some more. Mommy wants me to take another nap but I won't, so I swing in my swing instead. Eat. Play with Daddy when he gets home from work. I like to do the helicopter with him! Nap. Play with Mommy and Daddy. We usually  sit on the couch and have long conversations with one another. They desperately try to get my to laugh. I like to see them act silly! 7:00pm is bath time and PJ's on. Eat. 8:00pm is story time and lullabies with Mommy until I fall asleep. I like to get lots of rest so I can do it all over again!

I fell asleep playing AND still held onto the rings!
I love playing with my keys (and eating them too!)!

Earthquake!

We survived our first earthquake! An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 hit Virginia today with the center being only 30 miles from us.  I must say it was one of the scariest moments and even scarier with a baby. The house shook like crazy as things rattled on shelves and pictures fell off the walls. I immediately grabbed Mackenzie and ran outside. Since earthquakes are incredibly rare in Virginia I had no clue what was happening and my first thought was that the house was going to blow up. It wasn't until I ran outside and saw neighbors in the street that I realized it wasn't just me. Mackenzie stayed calm through it all while Mommy shook like a leaf. We have felt three aftershocks since. All four of us (Lupa too!) are safe and sound and just can't believe what we witnessed today. Crazy!

Before all the excitement Mackenzie played dress-up for Mommy. Here are a few photos before things got a little chaotic...

Sweet Dreams

We are so happy to say that Miss Mackenzie slept in her own room for the first time last night! Jimmy and I were a little nervous but knew it was time for our sweet pea to make the big transition to her crib. I made sure our little darling was OK by checking on her every two hours (yes, that's right, I set an alarm). Jimmy even got up a few times to take a peek. Each time we checked on her she was in a different sleeping position in a different area of the crib! She's not only active when awake, but also when asleep! Here's to many more successful nights in her big girl room!

How we found her in the morning...

Woke up a happy girl!

Flower Girl

A couple posts back we mentioned how Mackenzie was the flower girl in Jimmy's sisters wedding! It was a beautiful day filled with lot's of love, laughter, and tears of joy (stupid post-pregnancy hormones!). Thank you Jenna and Nick for allowing us to be apart of your very special day!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Saunders!

3 months old!

Happy 3 month birthday, Kenzie! Our little one is growing so fast and we are seeing changes in her daily! She loves to talk and sing, tries to sit-up (of course with assistance), and her newest thing...laughing! Mommy and Daddy are having a tough time moving her into her own room, but promised the transition would be made when she turned 3 months. We think the move is going to be harder on us then on her! Wish us luck!

Another GREAT weekend!

Mackenzie had a wonderful visit this weekend with her Nana, PopPop, and Great-Gran! She played, smiled, and talked up a storm!

Giggle giggle!

Mackenzie entertained us today with her very first giggle! Who took the prize for making our little girl laugh for the first time...my mom's good (and very animated) friend, Kay! Although we were not able to catch Kenzie's little laughs on camera we did manage to snap a picture of all the wonderful ladies that Mackenzie and Bellamy were able to meet today!

3 Beautiful Years!

Jimmy and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary yesterday! It was an extra special anniversary because it was the first one with Mackenzie! We celebrated by going to Outback Steakhouse for dinner, and yes, WITH a 2 month old! It was definitely a different dinning experience and we probably will opt for take out the next time around! Like Jimmy said "It's definitely not about us anymore!". Jimmy surprised me with a beautiful emerald ring (Mackenzie's birthstone), but the greatest gift of all was spending the day with our little sweet pea!

-Thank you Aunt Kristin for taking Kenzie's 2 month photos!

The Wheels on the Bus

Mackenzie's new favorite thing...silly songs! We found out quickly that Zie loves The Wheels on the Bus song! Here's a video of her singing along! (Please disregard Mommy's silly voice and lyrics. I make things up as I go!).
