It's a GIRL!!!!
We are happy to finally announce that we are having a baby girl!!! We spent a week with family and friends over the holidays and it was so much fun telling them the sex of the baby in person! For both the Ball and Wolfe families, we gave them a small present to open. In the gift bag was a Christmas ornament (pink of course!) that said "It's a Girl!" Everyone was thrilled for the "spell" of the baby boys was broken on the Wolfe side and my niece Bellamy was getting a girl cousin to play with! Now we play the name game!

20 Week Ultrasound
Yesterday was our 20 (really 19 1/2) week ultrasound and wow was it amazing! We hadn't seen the baby since week 8 and the changes were unbelievable! Baby Wolfe has graduated from a tiny kidney bean to a human looking baby! A full body scan was done, measuring every inch of our little one, and Baby Wolfe is right on target growth and development wise! Baby Wolfe was a little shy during the ultrasound and wouldn't show his/her face but we were still able to see arms, legs, spine, the whole nine yards, including the boy/girl area!!!! We now know the gender of our little one and can't wait to share the exciting news with family and friends! IT'S A......going to have to wait until next week! We are planning on telling the Ball family tonight and the Wolfe family on Dec. 27th. We really wanted to share the news with them in person! Unfortunately, this means we have to keep the sex mum for a few more days, but sharing news like this is worth the wait!

Head is buried with right arm over ear and left arm wrapped around it's body. Right leg is bent up.

Side view with hand waiving "hi"

Side view again with little left hand sticking up.

Visiting Bellamy Grace!
This past weekend I was able to go back down to Roanoke to visit my sister, brother-in-law, and new niece Bellamy! Uncle Jimmy was unfortunately not able to come, but much to my surprise we had a full blown Ball family get together! My brother came in town from Winchester and my parents drove up from Blacksburg, all to spend some quality time with Miss B!
I was so glad I made the trip down, not only because I got to spend time with Bellamy, but I was able to talk "Mommy" talk with my sister! She gave me priceless pointers and suggestions and eased my mind on A LOT of things I had been worried about. Kristin was the one who inspired me to start a blog and record special moments throughout my pregnancy and beyond. Kristin did this during her pregnancy (and is still blogging) and I love getting all of her updates and photos! Thank you Kristin for suggesting I do this because I already love it! I have never written a journal let alone done a blog, but now that something significant is happening in my life, it really is a great way to document special moments as well as update family and friends on little Baby Wolfe!

8 week ultrasound

Our 8 week ultrasound went great! It truly was an amazing experience. Hearing our little ones heartbeat for the first time is something we will never forget. Jimmy and I sat incredibly still while we listened and watched the tiny flicker of the heart beat on the monitor. Smiles were plastered all over our faces!

Spreading the news...
Telling the Ball family & Jenna and Nick!
We already had plans to head down to Blacksburg to visit my family and go to the VT vs. JMU game. The stars must have aligned perfectly because Jenna and Nick came in town from California that very same weekend and stayed with us at my parents house! It was the perfect time to tell my family and Jimmy's sister and future brother-in-law!
We decided to share the news with Jenna and Nick first! Since we were having a mini sleepover in my parent's basement, Jenna jokingly said "Let's tell secrets!". She lead the way perfectly for us to spread the news! I responded with "Well, Jimmy and I do have a little secret of our own....We're going to have a baby!" Lot's of smiles and hugs quickly followed!
The next morning we decided to continue spreading the news to my family! My sister was 6 -7 months pregnant at the time and we thought the perfect way to tell them was through a gift to my future niece, Bellamy. As we all sat around the room, I gave Kristin an early baby shower present. When she opened the gift it was a white baby onesie that said "I'm going to be a cousin". After a bit of confusion, shock, and a lot of laughter, they finally got it! Everyone was overjoyed! We will never forget that special moment! We then called my brother at college to let him know he was going to be an Uncle for the second time!
Telling the Wolfe Parents
We planned a trip up to see Jimmy's parents the very next weekend. We were so excited to tell them in person! Unfortunately our four legged baby, Lupa, came down with a horrible case of kennel cough and I had to stay back to take care of her. When Jimmy arrived at his parents, he gave them a gift for their anniversary. Inside the box was two baby bibs, one that said "I love Grandma" and the other "I love Grandpa". Jimmy had me on speaker phone so I could hear their reactions when they opened the gift, and man where they priceless! I heard a lot of screaming followed by joyful crying! We were so happy to share that moment with them!
Our little one will be born into one great big loving family! Baby Wolfe is already so blessed! :-)

The moment we knew....
We will never forget the first time we found out that we were in fact pregnant! That week I had some clear signs that my body was not quite itself. I was completely exhausted, nauseous (little did I know it would get A LOT worse), and I must say a bit more voluptuous! On Friday, September 3rd on my way home from work, I decided to stop at the pharmacy to pick up a pregnancy test. We decided I wouldn't take the test until I was "officially" late, but after dinner I just couldn't wait any longer. While Jimmy was doing the dishes, I quietly ran (more like sprinted) up the stairs to take one! After waiting those 3 painful minutes, I finally took my first look at the test. POSITIVE! I stood in the bathroom for about 5 minutes checking it once, twice, ten times, before running (again, more like sprinting) downstairs to see if Jimmy saw the same two little pink lines! Needless to say we were over the moon! We have been patiently waiting for Baby Wolfe ever since...
