23 months, 7 months, & 5 years!

Mackenzie Amelia- 23 Months

It’s crazy to think that our first-born will be turning 2 in a month! She is definitely acting more like a 2 year old these days. She is speaking in small sentences, counting to 10 (every number after 10 is 16, 16, 16, 16, its kinda cute!), and tests out her independence everyday. She is showing more interest in learning the alphabet and has A, B, and C down. She is also obsessed with animal sounds (something she hated before, gave you a not so nice look if you tried to imitate a dog), so I feel like I am barking, clucking, mooing, and quaking more than actually speaking these days. Ducky is still her main squeeze but the bond she has formed with Isla is unbelievably strong. She asks her all sorts of questions to get her involved during the day like “Isla see the birds?” or “Isla what color?” We have been playing a game where I ask her to show me something in the room that’s blue (or green, pink, brown, etc). She loves it. She goes hunting for colors and is so proud when she finds them. It makes Mommy happy too because I can get stuff done while she is occupied finding colors. We just love her enthusiasm and zest for life! Happy last month as a one year old!!!
Loves being outside

Poor thing ran into a door which left a nasty bruise and cut. She now has a pretty little scare.

Nothing gets this little one down though!

 Isla Marie- 7 Months

Our sweet little one is now 7 months old and doing unbelievably well! She is sitting up strong, try’s to get into a crawling position, and is now rolling from her back to belly! It took her a little while to roll but now that she has it down, she doesn’t stop! She now sleep on her tummy, try’s to roll during diaper changes, and immediately flips as soon as she is put on her back for playtime. You can tell her wheels are turning when it comes to the act of crawling but she just doesn’t have the strength to get up onto those knees yet. She is teething like crazy and cut her first bottom tooth. She has been waking 2-3 times at night due to this but manages to be just as smiley as ever during the day. She is still a little baldy which is so strange to us since her sister had a head of hair from day one. She got weighed yesterday and our peanut is exactly that, a peanut! She is weighing in at 14 lbs. 14 oz. She has always been a wee one and I don’t think that will be changing any time soon. For being small though, man is she pudgy! Her belly rolls go on and on and her little chunky legs are the cutest! She is babbling away and loves interacting with her sister (especially pulling her hair, yikes) and giggles away at both Mackenzie and the dog. She loves to play ball (with Mom’s help) with her sister (laughs the entire time), and anytime Lupa comes remotely near her she squeals in delight! We just love this little ball of sunshine! Happy 7 month, Smiley Isley!

Lupa- 5 years

Today is our four legged baby’s 5th birthday! Lupa has been through a lot of changes in her short little life (aka a toddler who is obsessed with her and now a baby) and still remains a sweetheart (of course in between her craziness! ). She has definitely slowed down and acts more like an adult, but when that puppy side comes out, watch out! She still likes to do random sprints around the house, barks at everything, gets into things she shouldn’t, eats like its her last meal, and never turns down a walk. She still LOVES to cuddle and if there is a blanket around she is under it! She was our first baby and this family wouldn’t be complete without her. We love you Lupa! Happy 5th Birthday!
