The Adventures of Mackenzie & Isla: Outer Banks 2012

We just returned from a great time in the Outer Banks with the Ball family! The nice ocean breeze, salt in the air, and sand between our toes was just what we needed! Mackenzie had an absolute blast running into the ocean, collecting water in her bucket, playing in the sand, and swimming in the pool! She had no fear of the ocean and couldn't get enough of the crashing waves! We all got a good workout chasing her back and forth from the ocean! The most fun she had was with her cousin, Bellamy. For the first time we really saw just how great of friends they truly will be. We would often find them chatting with one another in the corner, sharing toys, showing each other different things, and just supporting each other while getting use to new and exciting things! We are so thankful that we get the opportunity each year to go away as a family! Some of our greatest childhood memories are of our family beach vacations, and we are just over the moon that our children will be able to create those same moments and memories. We are already looking forward to next years "Beach Ball" vacation!

On an even brighter note, Mackenzie had blood work done yesterday and we got the great news that her platelets are now in the normal range! She was definitely fighting a virus that got the best of her for just a short period of time. It turns out that salt in the air can be just the cure!
