12 month fun!

Mackenzie had her 1 year checkup and everything looks great! She is right on or advanced in certain milestone areas and is looking to be a very happy and healthy 12 month old! We are now slowly transitioning her to whole milk and got the go ahead to start feeding her more like a toddler and less like a baby. She is still a picky eater but has made big strides in the fruit department! She now willingly eats, chopped bananas, blue berries, cantaloupe, watermelon, peaches, pears, and apples! This is a big step from having to hide them in her oatmeal! She also has expanded her vocabulary to include "Dog" and "Good Girl" in addition to her favorites "Mama" and "Baby". If you ask her where her "Dada" is she looks right at Jimmy and says "Ga-Ga"...not quit there but almost! She also loves to point at different objects and shows you all sorts of things. When asked where her head and nose are she will point right to them with excitement. It's amazing being able to communicate with her in new ways and you can tell she is thoroughly enjoying it as well. This past weekend, she had her first experience in a baby and adult pool and absolutely loved it! I have a feeling we will be doing a lot of "swimming" this summer.
