Christmas 2014- Fredericksburg

Before heading down to Blacksburg to celebrate Christmas we had our own little Christmas at our house! We treated it just like Christmas eve and day and it truly felt like it was! Cookies and milk (and of course carrots) were left for Santa and his reindeer. The girls went to bed in their Christmas PJ's and were giddy and excited the next morning when they heard the sound of Christmas music coming from downstairs! They are still talking about how cool it is that daddy even heard "bells" during the night (must have been Santa)! This time of year just keep getting better and better as the girls get older and it's not because of the presents, gifts or even Santa. It's because they are beginning to understand what Christmas really is about. Don't get me wrong, they are of course super excited about Santa, love all Santa songs, and get super duper excited if they see anyone that remotely resembles him. But this year we saw another side too. They talked all about "baby Jesus" and his birthday, enjoyed spending time with their family even more than with their new toys, and they truly appreciated and felt the love in the act of giving and receiving. It was such a warm time that has left Jimmy and I still talking about just how amazing our little family of four really is!

Deciding what cookies to give to Santa. The plate in front of Isla is a plate that Jimmy's grandmother (their great-grandmother) gave to us a couple years ago. It has now become the "official" plate for Santa's cookies and reindeer carrots!

Filling the plate with  goodies for Santa and his flying buddies!

Glass of milk of course!

This is when they started getting realllllly excited!

The finished product...Santa can now officially come!

Santa was pretty hungry!

Modeling in front of the tree (with a glass of celebratory Scotch of course)!

Waiting to see if Santa came! Absolutely in love with this picture!

"Christmas morning" - I love Mackenzie's look of shock!

Daddy reading the note from Santa!

Kenzie's pile of goods!

Isla's pile of goods!

This little one shows no mercy when opening gifts!

Every present she got (except for one) was something Frozen. That was her request to Santa and Santa delivered!

We look a little break halfway through so they girls could play with some of their new things.

Lupa's gifts from the girls (both toys were destroyed within seconds....literally).

Mackenzie gave everyone gifts that she had made in preschool. She was so proud!

Watching Isla open up the ornament she made her! (pic below)

Showing it to Daddy

Next up was Mommy!

Loving my wreath made out of her thumb print!

And then we were back at it again!

Olaf!!!!

She sleeps with this big guy every night now!

Hugging it out in their new snow pants!

They both got an Elsa and Anna doll!

Stockings!

Every year we get the girls a special ornament that has a special meaning.

This year we got Mackenzie a ducky ornament!

She was seriously excited...

I mean, seriously...

She literally could not stop laughing with excitement...

Isla got a bunny! She was moving so fast that I never got a good pic of her.

Showing off their new ornaments for 2014!
