A Birthday Message

 May 18, 2012

Mackenzie Amelia,

Happy 1st Birthday, Sweet Pea! Your Daddy and I can't believe you have been in our lives for an entire year! It has truly been the most beautiful year of our lives. Watching you blossom into the sweet little girl you are, makes Mommy and Daddy beam with pride and joy. Every step you take, whether it be a milestone of some sort or an actual step, we are in complete awe of you. At times it even seems as though the world comes to a complete stop just so it can smile back. And that's exactly what you are, our world. We couldn't possibly imagine life without you. Often when you are fast asleep or quietly playing with a toy, your Daddy and I will stare at you in absolute amazement with nothing but love pouring from our hearts. Love, it's a small little word with an endless meaning. We were told countless times we were going to experience a love we had never known before. It wasn't until you were born that we understood what others had been saying. It's an indescribable unimaginable feeling. No words can truly describe it nor give it justice. It's a love you would lay your life down for, a love you would do anything to protect, a love that makes you feel more alive then you have ever felt before. With that love, you have single handily changed my perspective on why I was given this beautiful gift of life. It became clear that rainy night in May, that I was brought here to have you, to raise you, to watch you grow, to help you learn, to guide you through this amazing journey we call life. You are my purpose, and I couldn't be more honored to be your Mother.

Happy Birthday my sweet little girl! Daddy and I look forward to celebrating many more beautiful birthdays with you!

Love,

Mommy

A Sweet Pea Birthday Party!

Mackenzie Amelia will be turning 1 this Friday, and we kicked off her birthday week with a "Sweet Pea" themed birthday party! Mackenzie was so blessed to have her family and close friends there to help her celebrate! While we partied we snacked on chicken, shrimp, and vegtable kabobs, yummy side dishes, and the most adorable birthday cake that went right along with the party theme! Mackenzie had a blast opening her gifts and we couldn't feel more blessed to have so many great people near and far send their love down to Mackenzie! Get ready for a ton of pictures!

Easter- just a tad bit late!

I just realized I never posted anything about Mackenzie's FIRST Easter! What can I say, things have been a little busy around here! :-) We had a wonderful visit from Mackenzie's Nana. PopPop, and Great-Gran! We were blessed with beautiful weather and got to spend a ton of time outside. We celebrated Easter dinner Saturday night and then had a big Easter breakfast Sunday morning.

The Easter bunny was a ticky one and hid Mackenzie's Easter basket!  With a little help from her Daddy, she was able to find it! She loved hunting through the basket, pulling things out, putting them back in, and most of all wearing the basket on her head!

Mackenzie was sad to see her Wolfe Grandparents go, but took a long nap to rest up for the next round of visitors, her MomMom, PopPop, and Uncle Kevman! Together we watched the PGA tour, found out that Mackenzie was going to have her very fist BOY cousin, and had another wonderful Easter dinner! What a fantastic weekend! :-)

Very upset when she found out the Easter bunny hid her basket! What a tricky bunny!

She forgave him once she saw all of her neat things!

"Is there anything else in there?!"

Pink or Blue? Cast your vote!

Will Baby #2 be Pink or Blue?!

I have gotten a couple requests to do a gender poll like Kristin did on her blog for baby #2! So....let the guessing game begin! On the right hand side of the screen you will see where to cast your vote! We will be finding out the gender of our little bean on May 10th and will make the announcement soon after! Thanks Aunt Kristin for coming up with this great idea! If viewing this in an email please go to www.sweetpeamackenzie.blogspot.com to vote!

*Please Note: Winners of the gender poll will get a high five and a hand shake.

A Growing Vocabulary

Mackenzie's growing and so is her vocabulary! I was amazed when she all the sudden said "bye-bye" back to me this morning! I was able to catch both "baby" and "bye-bye" on tape (she was not in the best of moods on the bye-bye tape, so I apologize for the short video!). We are working hard on "da-da" and "dog" since she already has "ma-ma" down pat! She hasn't been able to get the "d" sound yet, but something tells me it won't be too long!
